    Description

The silver bachin bowl was a popular kitchen utensil used in Channel Islands homes in the past. In Jersey, the bachin is synonymous with the preparation of black butter, a famous Jersey produce. The reproduction silver bachin’s remain a very popular child’s gift to this day. The bowls are handmade and the pattern around the perimeter of the bowl (a succession of  half moons) are crafted by hand by a skilled chaser, who painstakingly applies each detail using small hand punches.  The bachins are available in three different sizes, and are made in silver plate as well as in hallmarked sterling silver. Each piece is presented in a smart box. To keep the item in great condition we recommend a regular clean with an impregnated silver cloth, or by using a soft cloth with a recommended silver polish.
