Traditional and
Contemporary Silverware

About

Our company was formed on the 25th January 1870, after Francis Howard left his partnership in William Batt and Sons. Within a few years of establishing his own business, he had outgrown the original factory at West End Works due to huge demand for the items he produced.

During 1883 he relocated to a new site named Aberdeen Works, in the heart of Sheffield, where the business remains to this day. In 2007, English Heritage recognised the building as one of the finest remaining examples of Sheffield’s silverware heritage, and awarded it with a grade II listed status.

The business has evolved immensely over the last five generations, creating a worldwide demand for its Silverware articles.

The company is still family owned. Andrew Howard, part of the fifth generation, now looks after Britain’s oldest silver producer.

The business is proud of its highly skilled workforce, and can offer a bespoke and private label service where required.

Francis Howard is a company that really cares about the quality of items it sells. It is a company which is incredibly loyal to its customer base, only dealing on a business-to-business basis. And, it is a company which understands the demands of modern-day consumers and is able to provide an unrivalled service to meet those demands.
